USMS Membership Requirement:
Swimmers who have a USMS Standard Membership ($75/year), USMS Year-Plus Membership ($125 for 2026 and 2027), or USMS+ Premium Membership ($249/year) are eligible to receive New England Open Water Series awards. Swimmers who purchase USMS one-event memberships can participate in these events. Each one-event membership costs $20, except for the Waterman Eco-Challenge Ocean Swim which subsidizes this fee. A standard USMS membership has many benefits and costs less than purchasing four or five one-event memberships.
U.S. Masters Swimming is the nonprofit national governing body of adult swimming. It provides membership benefits to nearly 60,000 Masters swimmers nationwide. USMS encourages adults to enjoy the health, fitness, and social benefits of swimming by providing more than 2,000 adult swimming programs and events across the country, including pool and open water competitions.
