USMS Profile

I grew up swimming for Michigan Lakeshore Aquatics (MLA) in Holland, Michigan, before continuing my career at the University of Virginia, where I earned 19 All-America honors. During my junior swimming career and throughout college, I represented Team USA internationally and had the privilege of breaking both an American and a world record. After graduating from UVA, I retired from competitive swimming and moved to Boston, where my career took a different direction. Today, I lead Design for the Customer Experience Platform at Toast, where I've spent the past five years helping build products that make restaurants more successful businesses.

A few summers ago, I found my way back to the pool during a difficult time. My Nana, who first introduced me to swimming, drove me to countless practices, and was my biggest supporter, was nearing the end of her life. Wanting to spend more time close to her, and curious whether I could fall in love with the sport again, I reached out to Todd Whitford and joined the Great Bay Masters. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I've made. The community, the coaching from Brendan, Todd, and Steve, and my Lane 1 buddies (you know who you are!) have made swimming fun again. There's nothing better than wrapping up a workday, heading to practice, and knowing you're guaranteed a great workout and a good belly laugh.

Outside of work and swimming, I have the best husband, Nick, and our golden retriever, Hobbes, who keeps us entertained. When I'm not at the pool, you'll usually find me skiing, golfing, or with my nose in a good book.
